Following the release of Mogu’shan Vaults, Celestial Dungeon also opened in Phase 1. This might be unfamiliar to most players, even those who played Mists of Pandaria back in 2012, as it’s truly new.
What Is Celestial Dungeon?
Celestial Dungeon is a new, high-difficulty, five-player dungeon mode added to MoP Classic. It builds on the principles of Titan Rune dungeon from Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Elemental Rune dungeon from Cataclysm Classic, but adds more MoP Classic features. Its primary purpose is to provide players with an alternative way to get LFR-level gear and experience raid boss mechanics after the removal of Raid Finder.
LFR gear refers to items obtained by finding raids on LFR difficulty in World of Warcraft. It’s designed for casual players, and if you’re new to raiding, this dungeon is a great way to acquire the gear you need fast.
However, these items aren’t as good as epic gear you can get in raids, and the item difficulty and stats are lower. If you want to catch up with top-tier players, you still need to participate in current raids.
How To Enter Celestial Dungeon?
Entering Celestial Dungeon also has requirements. First, your character must be level 90 and have item level 435, the same as for entering a Heroic Dungeon.
Once you meet these two requirements, you can queue up for Celestial Dungeon using Random Dungeon Finder.
Celestial Dungeon Tips
Buffs
Upon entering Celestial Dungeon, four Celestial Gods will grant a buff, and players can choose one:
- Blessing of Chi-Ji: Grants a healing buff.
- Blessing of Yu’lon: Grants a damage boost (nerfed in the hot fix).
- Blessing of Xuen: Increases direct damage and allows you to attack additional targets.
- Blessing of Niuzao: Provides stamina buffs and enhanced survivability.
These buffs are designed for tanks, healers, and melee and ranged DPS. You guys entering this dungeon should choose to accord to your roles.
Preparation
In Celestial Dungeon, monsters benefit from Dominion of the Empress’s effects, increasing their damage by 25% and their health by 100. If your gear isn’t particularly high quality, it’s best to stock up on elixirs and food in advance using gold. If you’re short on gold or your Alchemy profession isn’t high enough, you can visit IGGM.com to buy cheap WoW MoP Classic gold, which offers quick gold and leveling profession services.
Gear
However, don’t worry too much. Most players entering this dungeon will probably be around gear level 460, making it no more challenging than a Heroic dungeon. However, if everyone entering this dungeon just meets the requirements, it might be a bit more challenging.
So, it’s not recommended to use the lowest gear. You can check the auction house for blue Contender gear. These are item level 450, and each item costs no more than 100 gold. With just 1000 WoW MoP classic gold, you can get a pretty suitable set of gear.
Celestial Dungeon Rewards
Celestial Dungeon bosses are divided into regular and final bosses. Defeating regular bosses grants you item-level 463 gear, while defeating the final boss grants item-level 476 Celestial Gear. There’s also a chance they’ll drop item-level 500 Sigil of Power and Sigil of Wisdom.

While there’s no cap on how many August Stone Fragments you can earn each day, they only stack up to 55, so it’s best to use them up quickly.
How To Get August Stone Fragments?
Each boss drops 2 August Stone Fragments per player, and the final boss provides 3 August Stone Fragments.
Completing the first random Celestial Dungeon each day rewards 4 additional August Stone Fragments, and each subsequent Celestial Dungeon you complete rewards 2 additional August Stone Fragments.
You can accept the daily rotating Celestial Dungeon quests from Challenger Soong or Challenger Wuli in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Completing them rewards 3 Exalt Fragments, 150 Valor Points, and WoW MoP gold.
This is a brief overview of Celestial Dungeon. This dungeon is suitable for new players and alts to catch up on, but it can be challenging. It’s best to play through it twice with some experienced friends to familiarize yourself with the process.
